The cast polymethylmethacrylate (in abbreviated form PMMA) is very transparent, more than glass, to the point that it has behavioural characteristics like optical fibre for the quality of transparency. It has a good aptitude for forming and processing, it is inert to many chemical agents and resistant to UV rays and atmospheric agents. It is also commonly called plexi or plexiglass.
