Composition
Water-repellent MDF is a support belonging to the MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) family composed of wood fibres held together by glues and resins designed to resist water, humidity, and atmospheric agents in general. Being a medium density panel, the density is around 680-700 kg/mc and this makes it a product suitable for pantographing, engraving and lacquering.
Uses
It is widely used in the furnishing sector especially for furniture or elements located in humid environments such as bathrooms and kitchens. Thanks to its water-repellent characteristics, it is used a lot in the nautical sector and is one of the main supports on which the pantographed or engraved panels of armored doors intended for outdoor environments are made (think, for example, of doors that open onto gardens or courtyards). It is used as a backing for laminates and laminates as well as for lacquering. In the case of lacquering, it is a good thing that the varnishes and the treatment are also water-based.
